Non conoscevo il giovane e bravo cantautore Claudio Conti, prima di ascoltare “Garnet Dusk“. Vi racconto come è andato l’ascolto.
La primissima sensazione è stata quella di trovarmi di fronte ad un’opera dal “sapore” profondamente internazionale. Da un punto di vista “tecnico” direi sorprendente il perfetto equilibrio tra la voce e gli strumenti, cosa assai rara nei “prodotti indie”. In questo album, influenze e stili si mescolano sapientemente, per dar vita ad un sound che travolge da subito, tra folk, pop, rock, country, psichedelia e un’oncia magica di surf music…
Claudio Conti è un poeta, ed i testi delle 14 tracce portano lontano, fino ai margini di un profondissimo ed intenso tramonto granata, che dura solo pochi istanti. Le atmosfere sono intime, riflessive, quasi dei “messaggi” che viaggiano dai “luoghi” dell’interno verso l’esterno. Tra onde che coinvolgono le nuvole mentre il sole affonda in acque limpide, nella terra della sabbia, lontano dalle folle delle fiere…
E’ difficile che un album mi piaccia al primo ascolto. E’ ancora più difficile che i testi riescano a rapirmi, che dirvi… Claudio con il suo album ci è riuscito.
Consiglio con il cuore “Garnet Dusk”, perché è un’opera, riuscitissima, generata proprio dal cuore.

“I didn’t know the young and capable songwriter Claudio Conti before the first listen of “Garnet Dusk”. I’m going to tell you how it went.
The very first feeling was to have chanced upon a work with a ‘profoundly international’ flavor.
Technically I’d say that it was surprising to hear the perfect balance between the voice and the instruments, such a rare thing in an indie record. In this album, both influences and styles wisely interlace emitting a sound that instantly amazes through folk, pop, rock, country, psychedelia and a magic ounce of surf music…
Claudio Conti is a poet, and the lyrics of the 14 tracks carry you away, to the edge of a very profound and intense garnet dusk, that lasts only a few instants.
The mood is intimate, reflective, almost like “messages” who travel from the “inward places” heading to the outward region. Among waves involving clouds while the sun was sinking in limpid waters, in the land of the sand, away from the crowd of the fair…
It is rare for me to like an album after the first listen.
It is even rarer to be enthralled by the lyrics, what can I tell you…Claudio, with his album, did it.
From my heart I recommend you “Garnet Dusk” because it’s a really successful work, a work exactly generated by the heart.”
